EA Considering In-Game Advertising, But Will Take "Thoughtful" Approach

Welcome to Pixel Playground! 👾 by Alexander 📊💸 EA CEO Andrew Wilson has hinted that in-game advertising could become a significant driver of growth for the company's bottom line 💸. Speaking during EA's latest earnings briefing, Wilson emphasized that it's still early days for this approach, but if they do decide to push further into in-game ads, they'll be "thoughtful" about how to implement them 🤔. This isn't the first time EA has experimented with in-game advertising. In 2008, Barack Obama's presidential campaign paid EA to feature political ads in Burnout Paradise to encourage people to vote for him 🗳️. Prior to that, games like Battlefield 2142 (2006), Need for Speed Carbon (2006), Madden, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, NHL, and NASCAR games (all 2007) featured in-game advertisements 📺. According to Wilson, if EA does decide to venture further into in-game ads, they'll strive to be "very thoughtful" about how they're implemented 💡. We'll have to wait and see what the future holds for EA's approach to in-game advertising! 🔮 Continue reading at GameSpot 📊. #EA #InGameAdvertising #ThoughtfulApproach #GamingBusiness 💥
